| About the Logo |
The logo was designed by Kerottana Luangrath, a design student from Sydney University. The logo can be broken into 4 parts:
- The 3 yellow figures with flames as head represent the community who’s inspired and filled with the Holy Sprit. Like in Acts of the Apostles, once the Holy Spirit descended upon them, they came together sharing all things in common. We do the same. We are filled with the Holy Spirit at WYD, then we come together sharing what we have in common at the AYE.
- The shield, the map of Australia and the Southern Cross represent the Australia and the place where the event will take place.
- The 9 represent the 9th Augustinian Youth Encounter.
- The book and the heart represent the Order of St Augustine. The placement of the book and the heart in the middle of the chest of the main figure, represent that St Augustine’s Rule of Community lives in our hearts.
