The theme of the Augustinian Youth Encounter is

“And all those who believed came together and share all things in common” Acts 2: 44

It focuses on the Augustinian nature of community celebrating diversity, prayer, social justice, oneness and unity. The theme was chosen in connection with the World Youth Day theme, which is

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you will be witnesses” Acts 1:8

The World Youth Day encourages youth and young adults to be witnesses to Christ with the help and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Augustinian Youth Encounter then further equips us for this task, building on the Augustinian emphasis on community.
